Autism Speaks 8k Run & 1k Fun Run

Named the “Best New Running Race in 2013″ by the Austin-American Statesman, the Autism Speaks 8k Run and 1k Kids Fun Run presented by The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf features a challenging 8k (~5 mi) race through the iconic grounds of Camp Mabry, a 2-person relay, and the First Leap Kids 1k Fun Run.

Runners on this challenging course will pass historic military vehicles and aircraft as they make their way through the hilly, scenic grounds.

  • Why: To raise money and awareness for Autism Speaks – the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.
